Workshop “Urban Partnership Program - Strengthening local government capacity in South-East Europe” 9 February 2016, Hotel Europe, Sarajevo

Launched in February 2015 Urban Partnership Program II aims to strengthen the capacity of local governments in South-East Europe, and to equip local elected officials, city administrators and technical staff with practical tools for decision-making, to effectively manage urban development for inclusive and sustainable growth. UPP II applies holistic approach to strengthen local government capacity and offers participatory approaches and tools in its three components: (1) Municipal finance self-assessment, (2) Social sustainability and citizen engagement and (3) Integrity building initiative. This approach helps to enhance good governance including improving accountability, transparency, efficiency and trust of citizens, businesses and investors. Implemented in Albania, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Croatia, Kosovo, Macedonia, Montenegro and Serbia UPP II also provides opportunities for regional networking and sharing of experiences between participating local governments.

The workshop objective is to present the content of the three components of the Urban Partnership Program, the practical tools and approaches and provide you with the information how to apply for the participation in the Program. It targets key decision-makers in the local governments of Bosnia and Herzegovina i.e. city mayors, deputy mayors and other senior local government officials.
